Terms of Service

Version 1.0 · Effective [EFFECTIVE DATE]

The short version

This is a summary for orientation only. The numbered terms below are what actually apply. These terms are for engineers — airlines, MROs and other organisations agree to the Recruiter Terms of Service instead.

Before this page goes live Every [BRACKETED] item below needs completing with real details, and the whole document should be reviewed by a lawyer qualified in the jurisdiction you operate from. It was drafted to fit how the platform actually works, but it is not legal advice and has not been reviewed by a solicitor.

1.Who we are

IATAS — the Integrated Aviation Talent Acquisition System — is a platform that connects licensed aviation maintenance professionals directly with airlines, MROs and other aviation organisations. It is operated by [LEGAL ENTITY NAME], registered in [COUNTRY] under number [REGISTRATION NUMBER], with its registered office at [REGISTERED ADDRESS].

In these terms, "IATAS", "we", "us" and "our" mean that entity. "You" means the person or organisation using the platform at iatas.in and its subdomains.

2.Accepting these terms

By creating an account, completing a profile, posting a role, or otherwise using IATAS, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the platform.

If you are using IATAS on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to bind that organisation, and "you" includes it.

3.What IATAS is — and is not

IATAS is a venue. We give engineers a place to publish verified professional credentials, and give organisations tools to search, shortlist and contact them directly.

IATAS is not:

  • an employer, employment agency, recruitment consultancy, or labour supplier;
  • a party to any employment contract, offer, or engagement arranged through the platform;
  • a licensing, certifying or regulatory body, and nothing on IATAS constitutes a licence, approval, or authorisation to carry out aircraft maintenance or issue a certificate of release to service;
  • a visa sponsor or immigration adviser.

Any relationship formed through IATAS — employment, contract, or otherwise — is between the engineer and the organisation alone. We are not responsible for its terms, its performance, or its outcome.

4.Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a contract. Engineer accounts are for individuals only — you may not create a profile on someone else's behalf or hold a profile that represents more than one person. Recruiter accounts must be created by someone acting for a genuine aviation organisation.

5.Your account

Keep your password confidential and your contact details current. You are responsible for everything done through your account. Tell us promptly at connect@iatas.in if you believe it has been accessed without your permission.

One person, one account. Do not share, sell or transfer an account.

6.Engineers: your obligations

This is the clause that matters most, because aviation maintenance is safety-critical.

  • Every credential you publish must be true and current. That includes your licence category (for example DGCA CAR-66 B1.1, EASA Part-66 B2), the authority that issued it, your aircraft type ratings and engine variants, your approvals, and your hours and experience.
  • You must not publish a licence, rating or approval that has lapsed, been suspended or revoked, without saying so.
  • You must update your profile when a credential changes.
  • You must not upload documents belonging to another person, or documents that have been altered.

Publishing a false or misleading credential is a serious breach. It will result in removal from the platform, and we may notify an organisation that relied on it. Where a matter appears to involve forged regulatory documents, we may report it to the relevant civil aviation authority.

7.Verification and what it means

Some profiles carry a verification marker. It means we have carried out the checks described here — no more.

What we check: that the account holder has provided documentation that appears, on reasonable inspection, to correspond to the credential claimed, and that the profile is internally consistent.

What we do not check: we do not have live access to civil aviation authority registers. We do not confirm the current validity or standing of a licence with DGCA, EASA, the FAA, GCAA, the UK CAA, CAAS or any other authority. We do not verify employment history, references, criminal records, medical fitness, or right to work.

Organisations remain responsible for their own due diligence. Before engaging any engineer for maintenance work, you must independently confirm licence validity, scope and currency with the issuing authority, exactly as you would for any other candidate. A verification marker on IATAS is not a substitute for that, and must not be treated as one.

8.Recruiters and organisations

  • Post only genuine, currently open roles that you are authorised to fill.
  • Never charge an engineer any fee — for a placement, an introduction, a visa, training, a type rating, accommodation, or anything else — as a condition of a role found through IATAS. This is an absolute rule and breaking it ends your access.
  • Use engineer data only to assess candidates for the roles you have posted. Do not export it, resell it, add it to a separate database, or pass it to a third party.
  • Do not contact engineers for anything other than a genuine hiring conversation. No marketing, no course sales, no agency recruitment.
  • Comply with applicable employment, equality and anti-discrimination law in every jurisdiction you hire into.

9.Fees

Some features of IATAS are free and some may be charged for. Where a charge applies to you, we will set out the amount, what it covers and the billing terms before you commit to it, and we will not start charging for something you already use without giving you notice first.

[CURRENT PRICING AND BILLING TERMS — set out which features are free, which are paid, for engineers and for organisations, together with renewal, refund and cancellation terms.]

Separately from anything IATAS may charge, no recruiter, agent or intermediary using the platform may charge an engineer a fee in connection with a role — see clause 8. That rule is absolute and is not affected by this clause.

10.Public portfolios and QR links

If you keep your profile discoverable, IATAS gives you a public portfolio page and a QR code that links to it, so you can share it or print it on a paper CV.

Understand what that means:

  • Anyone holding the link can view your professional information — name, photo, licence category, authority, type ratings, experience, skills, education, availability and location — without an IATAS account.
  • Your email address and phone number are not shown on your public portfolio. Visitors who are not signed in see a "Contact via IATAS" action instead.
  • The link always resolves to your current profile, so edits appear immediately — including corrections you make.
  • Turning off discoverability takes the page down. Anything already copied, cached, indexed by a search engine, or printed on paper is beyond our reach, so treat a printed QR code as permanent.

11.The invite-to-claim talent pool

IATAS maintains a talent pool of aviation professionals who have not yet registered, built from professional sources. Those entries show limited professional information with the name masked, and never show contact details, until the person claims and confirms their profile.

If you are in that pool: you may claim your profile, ask to correct it, or ask us to remove it entirely, at any time, by contacting connect@iatas.in. Section 7 of our Privacy Policy explains the lawful basis and your rights in full.

12.Third-party job listings

Some roles shown on IATAS are aggregated from external sources including Adzuna, JSearch, Greenhouse, Lever and SmartRecruiters. These are clearly distinguishable from roles posted directly by organisations on IATAS.

We do not control aggregated listings, do not verify the advertiser, and are not responsible for their accuracy or for what happens when you apply through them. Applying to an aggregated listing usually takes you to a third-party site governed by its own terms.

Be careful with any role that asks you for money. A genuine employer does not charge an engineer for a job. If you encounter one on IATAS, report it to us.

13.Prohibited conduct

You must not:

  • publish false, misleading or fraudulent credentials, documents or job listings;
  • impersonate another person, organisation or authority;
  • charge, or attempt to charge, an engineer a fee connected to a role;
  • scrape, crawl, bulk-download or systematically copy profiles or listings;
  • use the platform to send unsolicited marketing;
  • attempt to bypass access controls, rate limits or authentication, or access data that is not yours;
  • upload malware, or anything unlawful, defamatory, harassing or discriminatory;
  • use the platform to discriminate on any basis protected by applicable law.

14.Your content and our licence to use it

You keep ownership of everything you upload — your profile, documents, photograph and messages.

You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce and display that content solely to operate the platform for you: showing your profile to organisations, rendering your public portfolio if you have enabled it, generating your CV, and delivering your messages. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies retained as described in the Privacy Policy.

We do not sell your content, and we do not use it to train machine-learning models for third parties.

15.Our intellectual property

The IATAS name, logo, interface, design and underlying software are ours or our licensors'. You may not copy, adapt, reverse-engineer or create derivative works from them, except as the law permits. Airline, MRO and manufacturer marks shown on the platform belong to their respective owners and are used to describe fleets, ratings and employers — their appearance does not imply any partnership, endorsement or affiliation.

16.Availability and changes

We aim to keep IATAS available but do not promise uninterrupted service. We may change, suspend or withdraw features, and may carry out maintenance, with or without notice. Where a change materially reduces a feature you rely on, we will give reasonable notice where we practicably can.

17.Disclaimers

To the fullest extent the law allows, IATAS is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied.

In particular we do not warrant that:

  • you will find employment, receive an offer, or be contacted by any organisation;
  • any role advertised is genuine, currently open, or as described;
  • any engineer holds the credentials they claim, beyond the limited checks in clause 7;
  • any organisation is solvent, licensed, or will honour its commitments;
  • the platform will be error-free or continuously available.

Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

18.Limitation of liability

Subject to clause 17, and to the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for:

  • loss of employment, earnings, opportunity, profit, goodwill or anticipated savings;
  • any act, omission or decision of an engineer or an organisation;
  • any decision to engage, or not engage, a person for maintenance work;
  • indirect or consequential loss of any kind.

Our total aggregate liability arising from or connected to the platform will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or [CAP AMOUNT AND CURRENCY].

19.Indemnity

You will indemnify us against claims, losses and reasonable costs arising from your breach of these terms, your misuse of the platform, or any credential, document or listing you published that turns out to be false or misleading.

20.Suspension and termination

You may close your account at any time from your account settings, or by contacting us. Closing it removes your profile from search and takes down your public portfolio.

We may suspend or terminate access — immediately where the issue is serious — if you breach these terms, particularly clause 6 (false credentials), clause 8 (charging engineers a fee) or clause 13. Where we can reasonably do so, we will tell you why and give you a chance to respond.

21.Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of [GOVERNING JURISDICTION], and the courts of [CITY, JURISDICTION] have exclusive jurisdiction, except that we may bring proceedings to protect our intellectual property in any competent court.

Before starting proceedings, please contact us — most issues are resolved faster that way.

22.Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The version and effective date at the top will change. For material changes we will give notice by email or in the platform before they take effect. Continuing to use IATAS after that means you accept the new terms; if you do not, you may close your account.
